Christians should not be surprised when faced with persecution. Enemies persecuted Christ; they will do the same to believers today.

Christians need not worry that they will suffer God's wrath. Jesus has suffered in our place. Worldly tribulation, however, is likely.

Jesus told His followers not to fear those who can only kill our bodies but to fear God, who can destroy both body and soul in Hell.
